MACHINE CONSTRUCTION: 20" & 24" SERIES

High Precision Cartridge Type Spindle is supported by 4 pieces class 7 (P4) super precision, pre-loaded angular contact ball bearings. The spindle is permanently lubricated and requires no maintenance.The large diameter spindle is precisely balanced to ensure accuracy.
Table reversal is controlled by proximity switches which never make contact. Minimum stroke adjustment is so easy, the entire grinding time is substantially reduced. A protection plate is installed for safety.
One "V" and one flat table guideways are laminated with Turcite-B, precisely hand scraped and continuously lubricated for smooth, slip-free movement and accurate table positioning.
Double "V" guideways are laminated with Turcite-B, precisely hand scraped and continuously lubricated to ensure smooth and precise crossfeed increments.
Enlarged precision leadscrew with backlash adjustment device is driven by an AC motor. The encoder type stroke setting key allows crossfeed reversal to be set from the operator's control panel.
The wheelhead travels on a hardened and ground guideway system and is driven by an equally hardened and ground leadscrew and an AC servo motor for high torque, speed and accurate positioning with 0.0001" minimum increment.
